The circumstances under which I make dinner!

That's me in the corner... working on dinner. And this is what is going on in my kitchen! HELP!

When do I get to ski?

Margaret Learns to Ski!

It's a lot easier to practice skiing here. We have a ski slope in our back yard!
And she's off! A natural! She points the skis downhill and doesn't care about stopping!

But eventually she stops and Sean helps her up.

Margaret takes the ski lift back to the top of the slope! The next day Margaret skied all the way down the mountain at Snowy Range Ski Area! Go Margaret!!

Snow Day Every Day

Taking Wyoming on!

Glenn and Ineke were hearty souls. It was adventure time. They found their car in the snow bank.

They put on their new snow shoes.

Cold is no matter!

They headed off into the woods at 8,000 feet.

They walked until they reached the top of the moon. Welcome to Wyoming.

Thank You!

Thank you, Ineke and Glenn, for a nice visit and for our weekend without kids in Steamboat Springs!

The FINAL Christmas SMACKDOWN!

Oma and Grandpa arrived yesterday with a minivan-load of presents, their dog, and what seemed like A WHOLE LOT OF CLOTHING AND SHOES. We are not sure how long they are staying, but it was noticed last night that they had nailed a lovely picture of themselves to the wall downstairs. HAHAHAHA!!! Teasing! We were all excited for their visit.
PRESENTS. These kids have been in heaven.

So many grandparents! So many friends! So many presents! A new thrill everyday! YAY!

And the Eric-chair, hand-crafted by Grandpa, has arrived! This chair is PERFECTION. Grandpa has made it clear that we should not have any more children because it takes so long to construct and finish one of these beauties, which he has made for each member of our family. Just as he completed Margaret's chair, we announced that we were going to have a third child - HAHA! Don't worry, readership, we are done creating children. We have reached our level of incompetence. But will Grandpa have to keep making little chairs? We are hoping this is in his future, just not for our immediate family! Welcome Oma, Grandpa, Holly, and the last Christmas of the season. We have been blessed with a fun and love-filled holiday which was worth the three day trip home that is slowly fading in our memories. HAHAHA! DrHausfrau has reached the Slap-Happy stage of Christmas blogging! HAHAHAA!

Santa Came to our Forwarding Address

Christmas morning. Santa came! Beeba and Matt are with us! The kids are wearing their brand new PJs that Beeba made for them!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas with Mario, Ana, and Bill!

Clara and Jao (Sean! Edit my spelling!).
Bill just can't help himself. He delivers gifts all over the country, he can see the North Pole from his house...

It was a lovely afternoon with kids and food and conversation! We decided that all holidays should be spent with this family in Portugal.

The new meaning of Holiday peace. Boys occupied with violent toys, leaving their parents in peace!

Monopoly Goes On (and on!)

Dear Reader, You may think that I have already posted enough photos of people sitting around playing Monopoly. You just don't understand! Monopoly has been A VERY LARGE part of our lives lately! Luckily, there have been lots of people around to play it.

We bought Monopoly to teach William about currency and math...WOOPS! We have now created an evil slumlord, a trash-talking Capitalist, a tireless opponent who always wants to win and has nothing but time!

Tiny projects involving patience.

Beeba and Margaret worked endlessly on this little tiny project involving the careful placement of beads with tweezers. Each time the project was bumped, they had to start over. Their patience was amazing to me...patience seems to have skipped a generation (alas), but I am glad to see it around!

Beeba has the Christmas Spirit

Right down to her toes, Beeba was in the Christmas-Grandma spirit!
She shopped, she played, she did projects, she drove around town going from one activity to the next, she read stories, she doted on her grandbabies! Thanks for the great visit, Beeba!

Margaret and Karen

These two are good friends already.

Christmas with Mike and Karen

Mike and Karen came to visit us over the Christmas holiday!

They loaded us with presents- which DID fit without issue into our luggage! And after two days we are now reunited with our luggage - Thanks, Frontier!
Mike and Karen had just been to Hawaii TO GET ENGAGED AT SUNRISE ON TOP OF A VOLCANO (not currently erupting). Excuse the caps, but this sister-in-law-to-be is all excited.

Gender roles? He'll learn eventually! Merry Christmas, Karen and Mike! Thanks for a great visit.
