Old Faithful 7/4/10

Old Faithful

Here we are waiting for Old Faithful to go off, listening to the Park Ranger's talk about geothermal events!
Look! These were the fireworks we saw on July 4, 2010!

Elk!

We stopped along the roadside with several other tourists to gawk at Elk!

Yellowstone!

We finally made it up to Yellowstone National Park! William and Margaret help Eric walk to the restaurant!

Walk along the Snake River

Kids were a little tired...

But the views were fantastic!

Jackson by horseback

The kids got a little taste of riding horses in Jackson.

William loved it.
Margaret was petrified.

So this very smooth-talking cowboy calmed her down.

Soon, she wanted us to buy her a pony!

Boat across Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls

We took a boat across Jenny Lake

and then hiked uphill for a while, over bridges

until we got to Hidden Falls! Well worth it!

Howdy, Stranger

This was the view from the cabin we stayed in!

On the way to Jackson Hole.

Lake Taggart Trail in the Tetons

The entire clan went on a four mile hike in the Tetons. As I slowly lose my memories about what it was really like, I have only fond memories of the landscape, the lovely time with the family, the perfect weather.
No whining or fit throwing at all in this entire picture!

I see the moon.

Eric liked his ride.

Everyone behaved very responsibly on all bridges.
Oh, it was so magestic!

It was nearly fourth of July, and the national parks are one of the things I appreciate most about America.

Woah, that must have been a really big bear who sharpened his claws on this tree - RECENTLY. This prompted Grandpa to sing... to scare any bears away. Believe me, when Grandpa sings any bear would flee in terror!

Close enough to a bear for Dr. Hausfrau!!
Eric was lulled to sleep by all the commotion.

Grand Teton National Park

It is impossible to capture the beauty of the Tetons in a single shot! Maybe the only person who can take a good picture of a landscape like this is our friend www.brettdeacon.com .

MOOSE

There are SO moose in Wyoming! We found this one in the town called Moose.

Georg und Verena!

Sean and I love the opportunity to show off the natural beauty of Wyoming.

This time, Sean got to show Georg and Verena of Hamburg!

Can you see the marmot? Look harder!

It's even easier if you use your zoom lense!
