On Saturday, we visited with Sean's aunt and uncle in their wild and colorful garden of flowers.23 August 2007
Mook, Holland
The next day, we stopped at this beach along an inlet of the Maas river to have a little picnic. I highly recommend the beach, it was lovely. I do not, however, recommend a picnic in the sand with children of the above age groups ( see above photograph). They didn't eat much and their fruit got all sandy...but they had a lot of fun playing in the sand!
Park in Neuss
After our big day in Koeln, we travelled North to overnight in a much smaller town called Neuss. In Neuss, we found some very beautiful and calm city parks. We feed the ducks bread and watched them as they swam sweetly to us from across the pond. We stopped feeding the ducks when they got out of the water and started flocking over the bridge toward us in one big moving swarm of hungry "buck-bucks" right out of a Hitchcock movie. Help! Day Two: Koeln (Cologne)
We arrived in Koeln in our usual state, hungry. How lucky that we soon found ourselves sitting along the swollen Rhein river with this beautiful backdrop of old fishing houses...Windmills: Not Just in Holland!

The Wiener Schnitzel Waltz, by Tom Lehrer
TOM LEHRER REVISITED
11. The Wiener Schnitzel Waltz
Do you remember the night I held you so tight,
As we danced to the Wiener Schnitzel Waltz?
The music was gay, and the setting was Viennese,
Your hair wore some roses (or perhaps they were peonies),
I was blind to your obvious faults,
As we danced 'cross the scene
To the strains of the Wiener Schnitzel Waltz.
Oh, I drank some champagne from your shoe, la-la-la.
I was drunk by the time I got through, la-la-la.
For I didn't know as I raised that cup,
It had taken two bottles to fill the thing up.
It was I who stepped on your dress, la-la-la.
The skirts all came off, I confess, la-la-la.
Revealing for all of the others to see
Just what it was that endeared you to me...
I remember the night I held you so tight,
As we danced to the Wiener Schnitzel Waltz.
Your lips were like wine (if you'll pardon the simile),
The music was lovely and quite Rudolf Friml'y*.
I drank wine, you drank chocolate malts,
And we both turned quite green
To the strains of the Wiener Schnitzel Waltz.
